Jean-Baptiste Lamarck : works and heritage

Credits

www.Lamarck.net has been conceived and directed by Professor Pietro Corsi, D. Phil. (Université Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne and EHESS), Director of the CRHST at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, Paris, with the assistance of Raphaël Bange.

The section devoted to Lamarck's pupils and the relevant database has been developed thanks to a collective research project Pietro Corsi started in 1994, after the re-discovery of the register of attendance at Lamarck's classes. Raphaël Bange has developed the primary logical structure of the database 'Pupils of Lamarck'. The first website has been designed by Patrick Jardin, with the help of Raphaël Bange, Luciano de Sanctis and Nils Grünwald.

Since 2002, september, the webmaster is Stephane Pouyllau (CRHST/CNRS). Now the website are powered under "ICE corpus system" edited by the HSTL team from the Centre de Recherche en Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques. ICE has been designed by Stéphane Pouyllau (CRHST/CNRS).

We also wish to thank Andrea Scotti, Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza, Florence, Italy, for the creation of the meta-base Pinakes, on which this site is based, and Daniele Nuzzo, who created the text consultation interface and the textual search engine.
